Interested in becoming a CENNZ-NZNO National Committee Member?
The CENNZ committee is engaged in all things emergency nursing: strategic planning, governmental dialogue, collaboration with national agencies, development of education including delivery of the triage course, and building relationships with other organisations nationally and internationally.
To represent your region as a committee member, a commitment to advancing emergency nursing is essential.
The term of office is for 2 to 4 years.
The committee meets monthly. Most meetings are around two-hours long and held online. Three to four times per year, the CENNZ committee meets in Wellington for two full days. Committee members are expected to attend wherever possible as some of our most crucial mahi occurs kanohi ki te kanohi. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Specific portfolios or roles within the committee require attention and work between committee meetings. Time commitment ranges from 4 to 8 hours per week, depending on the portfolio. The ability to develop and critique documents are valuable skills. Each committee member writes short regional journal reports and facilitates dialogue between committee work and important regional developments and issues.
Vacancies for Auckland Region Representative on CENNZ National Committee
There are two Auckland regional representatives on the CENNZ national committee.
Both of the regions representatives – Anna-Marie Grace & Natalie Anderson complete their four year terms at the end of this year. This early call for nomination is to facilitate transition of representatives. The second committee position will be advertised later this year.
The CENNZ committee invites nominations for a new regional representative from the Auckland region CENNZ members.
This is a rewarding, challenging role representing your region and promoting emergency nursing nationally.
A strong commitment and interest in the development of emergency nursing is essential.

Vacancy for Top of South Region Representative on CENNZ National Committee
The CENNZ national committee thank Louise Holland for her contributions to CENNZ national committee that has included the secretary role.
The committee invites nominations for a regional representative from the Top of South region CENNZ members.

Roles of office bearers for the College of Emergency Nurses NZ – NZNO National Committee
Role of the Chairperson:
The Chairperson is elected to represent the College of Emergency Nurses and acts as an advocate for emergency nurses and emergency nursing.

Chair annual general meetings, committee meetings, and any special executive meetings.

Receive reports from subcommittee meetings.

Liaise with NZNO‘s Coordinator of Professional National Structure, and the Section and College representative NZNO Board of Directors.

Advise NZNO, the Nursing Council or other interested bodies on Emergency Nursing issues.
-
Direct the affairs of the college.
-
Implement policy decisions made at conference.
-
Provide support to national committee and college members.
-
Ex officio member of all College of Emergency Nurses committees and networks.
Role of the Secretary:

Organise meetings and teleconferences in conjunction with committee members.

Liaise with the Chairperson over matters that need to be dealt with e.g. Agendas. correspondence received and sent.

Prepare minutes and send to all members within specified time.

Manage and circulate all relevant correspondence as applicable.

Keep all files in order and keep records of all data received.

Keep an updated list of all national committee members’ address, email, phone/fax numbers.
Role of the Treasurer:

Work with the NZNO accountant assigned to the college to keep accurate and up to date financial accounts for the college.

Supply a financial report each year to NZNO on proposed balance sheet for the next year.

Present the annual budget to the Annual General Meeting.

Ensure an annual audit of accounts for presentation to the Annual General Meeting.
