Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand

Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand is NZNO's monthly journal, posted directly to more than 46,000 NZNO members. Kai Tiaki covers professional and industrial issues facing nurses and other health workers around the country, records major NZNO initiatives, profiles different practice areas and informs members of current health policy issues.

Kai Tiaki provides a forum for nurses to publish practice, education and research articles and to debate important professional and policy matters. Kai Tiaki is the incorrect spelling of kaitiaki which is te reo for carer or guardian. The name has been used since the magazine was first published in 1908, though it is unclear if it was adopted with the mandate of tangata whenua.

Kai Tiaki online is available free to NZNO members.

Kai Tiaki Nursing Research

NZNO launched a second journal, Kai Tiaki Nursing Research, in 2010. This is an annual journal showcasing New Zealand nursing research.

It publishes original, full-length research manuscripts from New Zealand-based nurse researchers (or other researchers where the research can be shown to have particular relevance to nursing in New Zealand).

This is a subscription only journal.
